A much admired veteran guitarist from Chicago, Mike Stone's talents remain widely sought after as a player, performer, and teacher. Mike's journey in the music business has included a long stint playing, touring, writing and recording with Chicago band, Full as well as countless appearances with other live acts. He continues to hone his skills with the creative outlet of writing, recording, and performing his own instrumental music.
Stone's passion for music started early. Growing up in the late 70's he listened to The Beatles, The Who, and Kiss, among other great bands from earlier eras. As a teenager, Stone studied with instructors who helped him build a strong foundation for his playing. His style has naturally evolved over the years, reflecting a growing knowledge and range of techniques that he has absorbed from many different players.
Stone's devoted fans have long appreciated his trademark guitar skills, easy-going nature, and ability to adapt to musical styles from pop to metal and most everything in between. Mike is perhaps best considered a rock guitarist without stylistic boundaries - a performer who sees beyond the day's trends in guitar playing. His unique style is heavy on emotion, flash and built around powerful melodies.
